Long Term Horses

Speedy

This lovely little boy has been with us for just over a year and a half, He arrived with us in April of 2016 with his mother who unfortunately passed away not long after being rescued.  Speedy had a very poor start, for his mother to have passed away and to have gone through what he did at such a young age, he is lucky that our team here at HHO got to him when they did. This little man is so full of love he deserves nothing but the best.

If you are making a monthly donation for this little fella, He has a monthly cost coming in at just over €200, depending on wormers or vet fees it could be more, Or a once of a donation from as little as you’d like, every little will help keep speedy full, happy and healthy.

Casper

Casper is a year old stallion, He has been with us a year and a half, arriving last may with his mother Lily, unfortunately, Lily found herself a forever home and little Casper was left with us to join the rest of the long-term ponies in our care. Little Casper arrived at us all the way from our neighbouring county of Cavan, at only a few months old Casper was so frightened, he knew nothing about being led or fed, it took him a little while to adjust but luckily for Casper, our team got to him just on time.

If you are willing to make a monthly donation, Caspers monthly costs come in at just over €200, or you can make a once of a donation from as little as you’d like, every little helps towards the upkeep of our long-term ponies. every little will help keep this little fella happy, full and healthy.

Squash

Squash is 2 years old male, He is with us just over a year and a half, arriving in may of 2016. He was a very weak boy when we rescued him from his living nightmare in our neighbouring county of Roscommon, all of his friends, including himself, had been abandoned and starved, some had been starved to the point of death. little squash was standing in a field full of his friend’s carcasses with not an inkling of hope left in him. Until that joyous may day when the HHO came to his rescue, he is now a very loved character on the yard, squash is a very gentle soul and like all our other equines, he deserves only the best.

If you are willing to make a monthly donation, Squash’s monthly costs come in at just over €200, or you can make a once off donation from as little as you’d like, every little helps towards the upkeep of our long-term ponies like Squash.

Smokie

Smokie is a two-year-old male, a stunning little boy who came to us last Christmas from the cold west of Ireland, not even a year old, he was starved and shivering, just looking for a bale of hay and some crunch. This poor little boy had a horrible start in life, luckily our team were quick to act and get Smokie back on his feet again and feeling like the colt he was always supposed to be, full of curiosity and mischieve. He has recently become part of the HHO’s long-term ponies, living full time in the yard with his hooves kicked up and a belly full of food. Smokie is a very gentle boy who deserves nothing but the best in life and we are sure to give him that here at the hungry horse.

If you are willing to make a monthly donation, Smokie’s monthly costs come in at just over €200, or you can make a once off donation from as little as you’d like, every little helps towards the upkeep of our long-term ponies like Smokie.

Duke

duke is a very gentle three-year-old cob. He is with us coming up two years now, brought in to us as a yearling this little man was very confused and weak. He didn’t know love or affection, not even knowing what it was like to be fed and tended to on a daily basis. Duke came from the west and during the winter season so you can only imagine how cold and alone he must have felt, but thanks to our constant round the clock equine care, duke has a daily routine and plenty of hugs and attention from our workers and volunteers here at the HHO yard. Duke now loves the winter season, knowing he will be rugged and fed to the best of our ability.

If you are willing to make a monthly donation, Duke’s monthly costs come in at just over €200, or you can make a once off donation from as little as you’d like, every little helps towards the upkeep of our long-term ponies like little Duke here.

Brooke

Brooke is a 3-year-old female. she is with us here at the HHO almost a year and a half now and has since become a member of our long-term ponies. This lovely lady came to us all the way from Co. Laois where she was welfare compromised (meaning she wasn’t being looked after properly and had been left to starve and dehydrate). Our team here at HHO took Brooke in and made sure she received the best possible care, with food at her feet and vets on call to tend to all her ailments. Brooke was a very shy girl when she first arrived here with us at first, she hadn’t had much human contact and no affection whatsoever, she has since come out of her shell and that chewed up tail is nice and long once again, after that naughty pony took a chunk of it from here.

If you are willing to make a monthly donation, Brooke’s monthly costs come in at just over €200, or you can make a once off donation from as little as you’d like, every little helps towards the upkeep of our long-term ponies like little Brooke here.
