Hungryhorse Outside

We live for these days, the days where hard work, tears, sadness can be cast aside and our ponies finally find a home of their own. Where they will be loved and cherished, cared for and respected. These are the days that make the dark, stressful days of animal welfare worth it.
Yesterday we had the pleasure of loading 13 of our beautiful ponies on to the lorry and driving them to meet their wonderful new families in the UK and let us tell you it was no easy task post Brexit with all the new restrictions in place. We couldn't be more proud of the hard work, dedication put in by our small team here to make this happen. It took tremendous effort.
But as always and most importantly our ponies have a secure and happy future ahead of them!
Love all our little ones and we'll be looking forward to hearing all about your new adventures and lifes!

News of Hope!
Today our wonderful farrier Brian Horohoe and his assistants came over to trim up several donkeys and ponies but specifically to help Hope, the donkey mare brought in as an emergency last Wednesday night. Hope had collapsed in the field and was unable to stand or walk without support. She was desperately cold, in huge pain and suffering from severe rain scald which had produced open sores all along her spine. With the help of painkiller/anti inflammatories and warmth from a heat lamp Hope reluctantly allowed Brian to trim her misshapen, overlong and infected hooves, after which he padded and bandaged the front hooves to relieve some of the pressure. She has a long road to full recovery though we do feel she is aware that we are trying to help and is already a little more cheerful and relaxed in herself.
We really appreciate the many messages, enquiries and donations so many of you have added to the enormous goodwill that cocoons this little donkey. For certain all the positive thoughts winging her way can only help her to heal.

Update on Willow
Willow also received special attention from Brian this morning. Many will remember her story when she was transferred to us from the Pound at HungryHorseOutside. They had rescued her with the most severely overgrown hooves we have seen in a decade and she had huge difficulty walking at all. Brian fitted a special support boot to the most damaged front hoof and over a period of a few weeks Willow has regained an almost normal movement. Today the boot was removed....with great success. She is flying it!
Thank you Brian for your amazing skills and for always going the extra mile to help these poor damaged animals. Willow can now look forward to a pain free future here at the Sai Sanctuary.
